Our story
How a church that began in one home in Garner became a church with a name for outreach in Raleigh.
April 2012
It began in a home in Garner
Our visionary, Dr. Lori, started the church in April 2012 inside her home in Garner, North Carolina.
Growing
On to Garner Road in Raleigh
The church grew beyond her home and moved to 1500-A Garner Road in Raleigh, North Carolina.
The first name
Divine Inspiration Victorious Assembly
In those years the ministry was called Divine Inspiration Victorious Assembly.
A new name
Divine Inspiration Worship and Outreach Center
The pastor was then instructed to change the name to Divine Inspiration Worship and Outreach Center, and to make Divine Inspiration Victorious Assembly the parent association. Out of it a nonprofit would be formed to help single parents and those struggling to feed their families and clothe their children.
Today
A chapel on South Wilmington Street
Today the church meets inside a chapel at 2720 South Wilmington Street in Raleigh, for worship every Sunday and something nearly every day of the week.
Why outreach is in our name
The nonprofit under Divine Inspiration Victorious Assembly was formed so the church could help people in Raleigh in practical ways. In the pastor’s words, the calling is to
“become a network of blessings to the Raleigh community.”
